The Cadder team skipped by Robert Jamieson and including Robert Storey, John Fergusson and Alan Munn had a resounding victory to win the Denis Kyd Quaich at Greenacres at the weekend . They won all of their four games which started with a tight 5-3 win against Dumbarton in the morning followed by a decisive 12-2 result in their second match against Helensburgh who had just previously beat a strong Kelvinside team. The team then went on to take a 5-2 victory over a Cawder House rink skipped by Alan Hannah, to then finally beat Cardross 5-2, another previous holder of the cup. The final tally was plus 18 shots well ahead of the rest of the pack. Well done team.

This coming Friday is our annual P v VP curling match and curry.
We start at 5.45pm at Hamilton Ice Rink, with a keenly fought game, and then retire to the Bombay Cottage for lots of chat and great food Hope to see you there - https://www.indianrestauranthamilton.co.uk I'm pleased to report that Cadder won the Strathkelvin Cup at Hamilton yesterday afternoon. We were the only club to win both our matches, so that made the task of counting the scores a bit simpler for the organisers (Nondes).
Cadder A (Gary Macfarlane, David Graham, George Paton and John Blair) had a comfortable 10-1 win over Cawder House, while Cadder B (Robert Jamieson, Alan Dunwoody, Allan Munn and me) were able to beat Nondes A 7-4. In the Nondes game we got a terrific boost from a '5' in the second end which put us in front, but after 6 ends the gap had narrowed and had there been time for another the result might well have been different. The attached photo shows the teams and our trophy - useful for identification purposes if it gets lost in the next 12 months - and as this year's winners we are to organise the 2022 event. Thanks to all who played, especially those who stepped in to sub at fairly short notice. Malcolm Kelly |
